My Game Is Changed

Life is like a game. They have their own rules, their own method of playing the game, their own strategies that you have to adapt to be in the game. And the game can be anything in your life. Be it your career, phases of life, countries, politics, the evolving environment, you name it.

And my game is changed.

Changing games isn't easy. There's a whole lot of planning and thinking to be in place. Being in a new game, I have to re-set my goals (long and short) and all possible considerations and strategies to reach my goal while abiding to the new rules, culture, community, network of the new game system. While moving to Singapore is not a difficult task but planning my years of development there was the challenge. A lot of people jump to a new game without any plans or goals eventually stuck in the game itself. It only make sense when we plan our destination (distance) before knowing what kind of vehicles  (cars, trains, aeroplanes) would get us there in time (duration) and what is necessary (fuel, petrol, food) to prepare in order to reach there. Nobody would love to jump in a car without knowing where to go and when to stop not even considering if that car is fuelled!

Simple to say. I have gotten a job in SG, I'm not jobless anymore! Yay! Now is that a good news or a bad news? Nay? :D Of course, I have my reasons (personal and development factors) to be there. Weighing on the pros and cons, of course is subjective to every individual. My visions and instinct really put the pros ahead of the cons.

So do really feel free to drop by in Singapore for hangouts or yumcha/advice if anyone reading this is interested or by any chance of going there!

Came across this circulating article that says "Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy" which I couldn't agree more that I am one of the yuppies but  remaining happy or unhappy is up to me to decide. It is so true that the Gen-Ys' have far fetched expectations than what the reality offers. Many people want to achieve something great but with an easy way. So there goes the famous saying for today generation "Don't Work Hard, Work Smart", which is true but my improvise version is this "Why Not Work Smart And Hard?"

Why not do both? The reality is if we don't work hard and smart, we will not get anything just by playing smart. I'm often delusion by how well other people is doing by just little effort and how awesome some groups of friends of mine that could enjoy their best moment everytime. Does this seem legit? Just little effort and everytime? Not real, because it's just our assumption and what we see everyday that made us feel delusion. People share the best of things or moments on social media, but do they share when they suffer or having the toughest time? Think again.

Let's hope my time in Singapore would open up my eye (which I think will) and gotten great moments there. (if not, screw it. Malaysia have my favourite Nasi Lemak anyway and cheaper too!)

Till then. Will miss my home and nasi lemak!

The real independence of my time begins!

Still Not Dead Yet

I'm alive! Thank goodness finally gotten my senses into re-update my blog once again (alwiz say so :P) Knowing I'm gone far too long would means I'm nearly as good as dead wiping myself out of this database. Have even thought of never coming back to my own blog again. Leaving it dead. So sad right?

The greatest challenge for me to come back to writing again is time management and self management. Have not been managing my time wisely, not entirely to blame myself partly to my work! Plus my discipline and declining aspirations while doing some soul searching. It's my second time doing soul searching and it's really mind disturbing at the same time. Feeling lost. (like a puppy wandering the streets not knowing where it's headed)

Have been working nearly a year of experience as what my degree scroll displayed and I quited. Not the hardest thing to do but one of the silliest decision made although am not regretting it. Why I find it silly is because it's tough nowadays to even get a job (yes, even for QS already) and quitting is like letting go such opportunity and contribute myself to an increase of unemployment rate. Why I decided to go then? The factors mainly lies with the learning opportunities, working environment and a deadly superior. My former explanation is that 1 year may seem short but knowingly my career development will not go that far to work in a company that does not invest in construction technology softwares. I may even fall short in the next 5 years of my career if I don't place myself learning BIM which is predicted to takes over QS role in the future. Unless I limit myself to similar companies vested in conventional system forever. My latter two factors maybe because it's my first job experience but it's okay along the way. Another factor is because there are too many other opportunities out there that catches my attention (with my lack of self discipline)

Am currently active hunting my career in Singapore. And wish me luck! It's a long term goal while being there. I shall keep these secrets of plans myself unless I am PM for what's my plan there. Haha~

So here I am. I'm jobless, feel free to comment if you want to hire me. Or even spend some time with a jobless guy. Sounded so sad right?

Til then. I will write again I promise.
